REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Welcome to Belly Dance with Johara
Welcome to all of you who are taking belly dance for the first time or returning for more.
I hope all of you enjoy the session. I fell in love with this art form and now make teaching
and performing it my life. I know that everyone comes with their own goals and expectations ----
just to have fun, to get fit, to master the dance, or even to perform. I try to make everyone
comfortable and allow you to challenge yourself too. This class is for all ages and body types,
so you are welcome in my class. Go at your own pace, if you want it slower, go slower. If you want
more of challenge, then add a shimmy to layer over the movement, or take the speed up a notch.
This class is for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Music
I have several mixed CD's available. I can help with some suggestions on where/what
to look for as well.
Clothing:
I suggest for on top of one of the following: tank top, crop top, chole, sports
bra top, t-shirt, or gypsy tie-top. For on bottom, I suggest: lycra blend wide legged pants, sport pants,
leggings, or Indian style skirt or sarong (make sure they have elastic waistband so you can roll down to
hip level with comfort).
Most students wear stretchy type pants and many have hip scarves with coins or beads. You are not required
to have one though; it is optional. Of course, you may wish to buy fancy practice wear to make it festive
or you may arrive from work at times with only your work clothes. You are welcome in all cases as long as
it is decent and covers you adequately for the brief yoga stretch we do at the onset of class.
For the feet, we go barefoot, but you may wear soft soled shoes like ballet or zumba shoe slippers if
you are more comfortable or need to cover you feet.
Make-ups
Cambridge: There is 1 make-up for missed classes in a different class or location (Brookline)
Brookline: 1 make-up in a different location (Cambridge) .
Refunds: There are no refunds. If there are extenuating circumstances, we can discuss making up
the session later or giving it to a friend.
Bad Weather Cancellations
Dance Complex: If there is a big snow storm you can call the Dance Complex ahead
to see if it has closed or not.
Brookline: Call me a few hours prior to class to check if class is on or to let me know that you
can't make it due to the storm. If there are several cancellations on yourr part, I will likely cancel by calling
Questions
Feel free to email me as the class goes along with questions/comments.
